"My fellow Americans, major -combat- cabinet-making operations in -Iraq- my kitchen have ended. In the -battle of Iraq- renovation of my kitchen, -the United States and our allies- Greg & his elves have prevailed."
Yessiree, I'm done with the cabinets. For those keeping score, I had an, um, execution mishap with the door of the spice slider. Suffice to say, that'll just be part of the occupation.
What's new? The doors on the upper cabinet and the skinny little cabinet to the left of the range.
The flooring is next, which I will NOT be doing. It violates the rule. What rule, you ask. Greg's first rule of home improvements: If it requires a skill I don't have and I'll only use that skill once, I get someone else to do it. The first time I do anything, I usually do a poor job at it (insert your marriage joke here). But I do eventually learn, so for cabinets, plumbing, and drywall it makes it worthwhile. But I've got exactly 1 room that needs linoleum, so no dice.
But the tiling, we'll be doing the tiling. And by we, I mean Heather. I'll have a support role, but that usually means encouragement and applause.
