So 'tis the season for all those unwanted, tree-killing, how-the-heck-did-I-get-on-THAT-mailing-list catalogs. The efficient side of me wants to place the paper recycling box right under the mail slot in the door. But what to do - hunt for the phone number on each catalog, give them a call, get placed on hold, become impatient and hang up before speaking with anyone? Not a workable solution.

I stumbled across Catalog Choice a couple of weeks ago. It allows you to opt out of catalogs online: just create an account, find the offending catalog, and ZAP! you'll never have to throw away that unopened catalog again. Check it out.
