Took a quick trip out to Utah last month. I saw there was 40 acres of property east of Escalante for ~$90K. It's off the grid, and that's a big commitment, sight unseen. So I bought a ticket and flew out by my lonesome. Here's a view from the land - the Straight Cliffs, looking towards the town of Escalante:

Although the land was very nice, we ultimately decided to pass on this property. We didn't want to use up all our funds to buy something that's not in Boulder. But the trip was worthwhile, talked with a couple of Realtors so we can get a heads-up on any new land that comes available.

But I did get to send some time in Boulder. They have cell phone coverage now, what a surprise. I drove around town and took quite a number of photos so if anything came on the market I'd have a picture at least near it.
