Monster Friday: The Witch

The Witch

Not much of a movie tie-in here -- just your garden-variety witch. Actually more of a zoological-variety one, due to the profligate use of the wee beasties in the scene. This is my favorite model. The detail on this just doesn't seem to stop. You got your toads, snakes, bats, rats, various invertibrae in the cauldron. There's the butcher knife, moonshine jug (hey, a gal has to party a bit, even when she's in league with the demonic), broom (transport or housecleaning device?), couple of bottles, and the keys to the cage there in the back. The best detail: the drip of potion sauce inside the spoon -- almost makes you want to give it a taste.

And then there's little miss sunshine herself. Wart? Check. Bad eye? Check. Teeth? No check, but that's a good thing. Hair? Amazingly supple and smooth. (Well, you can't have everything.)

I must have had a lot of orange and red paint I needed to get rid of when I made this. But other than the impressionistic paint job, I put it together reasonably well. Since she was no movie star, I bought her later after I had all of the 'name' monsters, so I had a better model building resume for her.
