We had another 12 hour layover in Doha on return, and we stayed in the Grand Suite Hotel. Suffice to say I greatly regretted not booking Swiss-Belhotel. Whereas Swiss-Belhotel seemed new and elegant, Grand Suite Hotel seemed like a not quite successful upgrade of an older hotel. Tile, not carpet in the rooms; one towel in the shower; the shower that had a small, cheap enclosure that drained elsewhere in the bathroom. It did have a microwave. Avoid.
