We had a 12 hour overnight layover in Doha thanks to Qatar Air. Instead of slumming it in the airport lounge, we decided to get a visa and hit the town. Although the Souq Waqif unimpressed, the solid sleep at the Swiss-Belhotel didn't disappoint. At $150, it wasn't what I'd call cheap, but for Doha it's on the cheaper side. Clean, efficient, close to the airport -- a great choice for a stopover.
